Over the years, Nigeria send tens of thousands of pilgrims annually, with most spending few days in Madinah before proceeding to Makkah for Hajj rites.
AGWAA TAIBA Company in Madinah has been one of the companies providing services for Nigerian pilgrims, particularly, accommodation and feeding during their stay in the City of the Prophet.
Speaking in Madinah, Managing Director of AGWAA TAIBA Mr. Ahmed Amjad said, “…the company will significantly upgrade feeding and accommodation services for Nigerian pilgrims in subsequent Hajj season, building on years of experience managing Nigerian pilgrim welfare in Madinah. He added that, “Service is an AMANAH. Our promise is closer and five-star hotels to Haram, better food, and more respect for our pilgrims.” He said the upgrades follow years of serving Nigerian pilgrims and direct feedback from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON.
For many Nigerian pilgrims, Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime journey. Years of savings. A final prayer. The core Hajj rites are performed in Makkah. But the experiences often start in Madinah. The meal. The accommodation. The walk to the Prophet Mosque. The visit to other historical sites in Islam.
On accommodation, Mr. Ahmed said it will prioritize hotels within few walks to the Prophet’s Mosque and add more facilities for elderly and those with physical challenges. In Madinah location in the Markaziyah Area is very strategic for Nigerian pilgrims as this will to attend the five-daily prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque every day.
On feeding, AGWAA TAIBA Company has over the past Hajj seasons moved away from generic catering to menus designed by Nigerian Hajj officials. Meals now include jollof rice, beans, stew, and other local dishes such as tuwo. There are also options for people with medical and dietary needs.
Other planned improvements include better Wi-Fi, designated prayer areas in hotels, and welfare officers who speak Hausa, English and Pidgin at the apartments.
Mr. Ahmed stressed that, “[AGWAA TAIBA]’s responsibility is to serve the guests of Allah with dignity. We have served Nigerians for years, and we are now raising the standard to continue serving them in subsequent Hajj operations.”
Now, as Saudi authorities announce new digital systems and quality benchmarks for Hajj service providers, AGWAA TAIBA Company says it is preparing for the next phase, particularly 2027 Hajj exercise.
The company has made three public commitments for Nigerian pilgrims in future Hajj seasons: Better Feeding. Better Accommodation. Better Communication.
